The Miracle Worker

By: William Gibson

Helen Keller's world was nothing but darkness until her life was forever changed at her family's water well. It was in this very spot that she first discovered that language existed and communication is possible. This was her key to access the world around her and unlock the dreams within her. Though this is the most famous moment at a water well in history, miracles at water wells are not such a rare occurrence. Millions of people globally are unlocking this same key at the first pump of accessible, flowing water. Clean water, although seemingly simple to us, truly brings life.

Through the patience and determination of her teacher, Annie Sullivan, Helen fulfilled her calling in life to make a difference. Annie's greatest advantage in achieving this for Helen was that she understood blindness as she, herself, was visually impaired.

After reaching over 2,000 students on the 2021-2022 School Tour for LYL and Thirst Project, Aly Sikora made the decision that her work was not finished at educating students about the water crisis and inspiring them to make a difference. It was time for her to fund a water well for a community in Eswatini. 100 percent of ticket sales goes directly towards this well, and each $25 ticket provides one person with clean water for life.

Aly is starring as a lead actress while managing multiple aspects of production. Her greatest asset, like her character, Annie Sullivan, is that she, too, has a visual disability. It is her hope that you will walk away inspired and feeling the overflowing gratitude for your participation in making this water well in Eswatini possible.

"The Miracle Worker" is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com
